Bandai Entertainment announced that they will release the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation movie trilogy in June. The announcement was made through the company's Twitter feed on Wednesday. Bandai originally announced that they acquired the North American license for the films in 2006.

Following in the footsteps of the first Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy, which retold the original TV series' story, the Zeta Gundam trilogy retells the Zeta Gundam TV series with most of the original cast reprising their roles.

Series creator Yoshiyuki Tomino assembled the movies to celebrate Zeta Gundam's 20th anniversary. The features were digitally remastered, and feature some new footage.
