Anime Expo announced that the convention will host three staff members that worked on the Eden of the East anime series. Series director Kenji Kamiyama (Blood: The Last Vampire, Jin Roh), chief animation director Satoru Nakamura (Macross Plus, Monster), and producer Tomohiko Ishii (The Sky Crawlers, Howl's Moving Castle) will all attend the event as Guests of Honor. In addition, the trio will host the American premiere of FUNimation's release of the show.

The three previously collaborated on the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex anime, as well as the series's sequels, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: 2nd Gig and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society.

Anime Expo will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 1 to July 4.
