Cartoon Network announced that they will debut the Beyblade: Metal Fusion anime series. The announcement was made during Cartoon Network's Advertising Upfront presentation in New York City. Corus Enrtertainment will bring the series to Canada's YTV on May 13. The series will be co-produced between Nelvana Enterprises and Japan's D-Rights. The toys will be produced by Takara-Tomy, and distributed by Hasbro.

The Beyblade: Metal Fusion's manga hit Japan in 2008 under the title Metal Fight Beyblade, with "metal" referring to the use of metal in the latest line's tops.
