Producer Peter Keefe passed away due to throat cancer in Rochester, New York on May 29. He was 57. Keefe was best known for producing the iconic Voltron - a 1984 re-dub and re-edit of Toei's anime Hyakujuu Ou Golion and Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV. Voltron was the nationally top ranked series in kids' syndication through the 1984 and 1985 broadcast seasons in the US, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Keefe also adapted Studio Pierrot robot anime series Seijuushi Bismarck (Star Musketeer Bismarck) into Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs. He also worked on the American-French animated series Denver, the Last Dinosaur. Keefe was also involved in the formation of Zodiac Entertainment in 1989, which produced Widget, The Mr. Bogus Show, and Twinkle.

Before passing away, Keefe was working with Earthworks Entertainment on Z~Force, an upcoming kids' show about 12 young heroes based around the Chinese zodiac.

We at Anime Dream offer our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Keefe.
