Japanese game maker Capcom recently collaborated with character designer Norio Shioyama (Armored Trooper VOTOMS) to produce three anime shorts inspired by the company's upcoming Dead Rising video game, titled Samurai Dead Rising. The first episode is currently streaming on Capcom's website and Youtube channel. The shorts provide a "what if" look at how Dead Rising's zombie apocalypse would play out in Samurai-era Japan, rather than modern-day America.

Shioyama served as the main visual artist, animation director, and animator for the series, while Manabu Inada was the creative director, director, and producer. Shohei Narabe was the title's composer.
