Anime News Network reports that Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler will perform the theme song for the live-action film adaptation of Space Battleship Yamato. The song Love Lives was written by Tyler specifically for the film, and will go on sale on November 24 in Japan.

Love Lives is Tyler's first solo single. He wrote the piece after reviewing the official offer and a script translation provided by his agent. Tyler responded to the film's theme of people wanting to protect those they love, and agreed to write the song.
