Kadokawa and ANIMATE announced that they will host a new event. The new event, called the Anime Contents Expo, will be held on March 26th and 27th at the Makuhari Messe event center in Chiba. The expo's executive committee consists of the following companies:

• ANIMATE
• Kadokawa Shoten
• King Records
• Geneon Universal Entertainment Japan
• Frontier Works
• Marvelous Entertainment
• Media Factory

The weekend of the event is the same weekend as that of the Tokyo Anime Fair. The committee cited the recent Youth Healthy Development Ordinance as their reason to boycott the Tokyo Anime Fair. The group also announced that they support the Comic 10-Shakai's decision to boycott next year's Tokyo Anime Fair.
