The Visual Effects Society announced that they nominated Cat Shit One: The Animated Series for a VES Award. The title received a nod for the association's Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Short category. The listing credits Kazuya Sasahara, producer Junya Okabe, art director Tomohisa Ishikawa, and concept artist Yoshiyuki Okada.

The VES Awards will be held on February 1. Cat Shit 1 will compete against Looney Tunes - Coyote Falls, Day & Night, Paths of Hate, and Tick Tock Tale in the category.
