Anime News Network reports that Mamoru Oshii will publish a novelization of Satoshi Kon's unfinished manga, Seraphim: 2-Oku 6661-Man 3336 no Tsubasa, in the spring of 2012. According to Kon, Oshii created the original concept for the story, and asked the famed director to adapt it to manga. The series was originally serialzed in Animage magazine, from May 1995 to November 1995, though the title was dropped after 16 chapters.

After Kon's passing, Tokuma Shoten, Animage's publisher, reprinted part of the manga in their Monthly Comic Ryu magazine and compiled the series into a single volume, which was released last month.
