Light Novel Prize Winner to Receive Anime

Kodansha announced that the winning entry of its upcoming Kodansha Light Novel Bunko New Author Prize will receive an animated adaptation. The winning title will receive a 15-minute anime by AIC, which will be streamed by Nico Nico Douga. The grand prize winner will also receive a 3 million yen prize, while runners-up will receive 1 million yen and 300,00 yen prizes, respectively.

Kodansha confirmed tha the deadline for entries will be extended until May 31, due to the earthquake and tsunami. Applicants must submit an unpublished original full-length novel of any genre. The novel can not have been submitted to other competitions.

Entries will be judged by a number of prominent figures in the industry, including Kousuke Fujishima (Ah! My Goddess, You're Under Arrest!), Yomi Hirasaka (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai), and Shin Oonuma Baka and Test).
