Discotek Acquires Unico Films

Discotek Media announced that they acquired the domestic rights to both Unico movies. While no specific release date was revealed, the company stated that the titles would hit in 2012.

Unico was originaly created by Osamu Tezuka in 1976. The manga spawned two feature films: Fantastic Adventures of Unico and Unico in the Island of Magic. In America, the Disney Channel aired both films in the 1980s, and released them on VHS. In 2007, New Galaxy Anime announced that they would release the two films, as well as an unreleased third feature.
