Anime News Network reports that Ghost in the Shell director Mamoru Oshii is working on a new project. The new feature, titled Chimamire My Love will be an anime/manga hybrid that is aimed at mobile devices. The title will see its initial release on the iPad, followed by debuts on Android devices and the iPhone.

Oshii noted that the hybrid format offers new and unexplored possibilities in an age when anime and films are seeing downturns. He also stated that he would like to return to slapstick comedy, which he rarely revisited since Urusei Yatsura.
