Kodansha USA Publishing announced that their release of the first volume of the Sailor Moon manga sold out. While the company didn't specify whether this was at a retail or a distributor level, they did note that the run consisted of 50,000 copies. The publisher will give the title a second print run of 50,000 copies.

The first volume of Sailor Moon hit stores with the first volume of Codename: Sailor V on September 13. The title topped the New York Times manga best-sellers list for the past three weeks, while Sailor V held the #2 position for its first two weeks on the market.
