On January 2, Bandai Entertainment announced that they will stop offering new DVD, Blu-Ray, and manga releases in February. The company will continue to distribute its existing line-up, though they will not acquire new titles or actively work to renew current licenses. In addition, the following releases were cancelled:

Anime

  • Gosick
  • Nichijo
  • Turn A Gundam

Manga

  • Code Geass: Renya
  • Gurren Lagann Volume 7
  • Kannagi Volumes 4-6
  • Lucky Star Boo Boo Kagaboo
  • Mobile Suit Gundam 00I
  • Tales of the Abyss: Jade's Secret Memories

While new products will not be released, the company will continue to offer and produce their existing catalog. The company will shift its focus going forward to licensing rights to other companies, especially in the realms of digital distribution, merchandising, and television broadcast. The company will be restructured, with three of the five remaining full-time staff being laid off, along with most contractors.
