Even more Anime to be shown on Television

If all the recent news of anime coming to television in the United States wasn't enough, Tech TV is setting the launch of its anime block, dubbed "Anime Unleashed", for December 30th. Half-hour series and movie specials will air Mondays through Fridays at 1:00 AM - 1:30 AM (Eastern). There will be additional airings at 11:00 PM - 1:00 AM (Eastern) and 1:30 AM - 3:00 AM (Eastern). On December 28th, Cartoon Network will air the theatrical feature Mobile Suit Gundam - Char's Counterattack on the Adult Swim block at 11 P.M. (Eastern).

In addition, Cartoon Network has acquired the rights to air Trigun and Reign: The Conqueror. Both series have not been given a date yet, but will debut eary 2003.

Fans looking forward to Reign: The Conqueror should be excited to know that TOKYOPOP will release the first (unedited) volume on February 25th for a suggested retail price of $29.99. Speaking of TOKYOPOP, they also acquired the rights to produce Cine-Manga for Disney's Lizzie McGuire and Kim Possible. Cine-Manga are full-color books in storyboard format. The current lineup includes Cardcaptors and Akira.
