Demanding Shojo Beats Cry Eureka to Ghibli's Bead Men

MovieLink, through an agreement with Central Park Media, will be adding twenty-five new anime downloads to its on-demand service. The downloads span several genres, and include series such as Dominion Tank Police, Hyper Speed GranDoll, and DNA^2. The new offerings will range in price from $1.99 to $4.99US, and will be available in English dubbed format.

Viz has announced that it will be launching a new monthly manga anthology. The publication, aptly titled Shojo Beat, will be the first monthly manga anthology outside of Japan that is aimed exclusively at a female audience. The magazine will utilize a similar format to Shonen Jump, and will feature six ongoing titles from Shogakukan and Shueisha. The first issue of Shojo Beat will contain Crimson Hero, Nana, Kaze Hikaru, Absolute Boyfriend, Godchild, and Baby and Me. The publication will have a cover price of $5.99US. Viz plans to launch a Shojo Beat graphic novel line with the magazine. Shojo Beat graphic novels will have a suggested retail price of $8.99US. Shojo Beat will launch in June, with a preview available in May.

Bandai has announced that it has joined with several Japanese companies to create an original television animated series. The series, titled Eureka Seven, is set to air on Sunday at 7:00AM on Japan's MBS/TBS network starting April 17th. A total of eleven partners are involved in the project.The series will be animated by Studio BONES. Along with the animated series, a video game will be released with new characters and a story that runs parallel to the series.

Studio Ghibli has announced that the studio will split from its parent company, Tokuma Shoten, by the end of March. From that point, Ghibli will take over the business rights to the studio.

According to Anime News Service, ABC will air a dubbed version of B-Legend! Battle Beadman in April. Beadman originally aired in 2004 with a run of 52 episodes.

4Kids TV (formerly Fox Box) has scheduled a broadcast preview for Mew Mew Power. Mew Mew Power is 4Kids' "adaptation" of anime series Tokyo Mew Mew. The preview will air on Saturday, February 19.
