FUNimation has announced that they have the rights to Suna Bozu. The title will be released under the title Desert Punk. The July 26 release of Kodocha has been delayed to August 7. The delay can be attributed to a delay in manufacturing of the pack-in for the limited edition, which is a custom Mythwear DVD carrying case.
Geneon announced that the company has obtained the rights to Bottle Fairy, Doki Doki School Hours, and Starship Operators. When asked about Toei's recent releases of Air Master, Interlude, and Slam Dunk, the Geneon rep confirmed that Toei is aware of the customers' issues. However, whether they will be corrected in future volumes has yet to be seen.
Bandai representative Jerry Chu announced that their upcoming series, Avenger, will have its entire thirteen-episode run released in a single installment. The series will be released in a single-tin box with a suggested retail price of $29.98US. Chu continued to Eureka 7, a co-production between Bandai Entertainment and Studio Bones. The series is set to have a 50-episode run in Japan, which will begin release in the US in 2006. All of the properties attached to Eureka 7 (including games, music, and manga) will most likely be released in America. IGPX, the co-production between Bandai, Production IG, and Cartoon Network will be a 26-episode series with a budget on par with Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. The series is set to begin airing in America this fall.
ADV Films' David Williams announced that the company now holds the home video rights to Beyond the Cloud, the Promised Place. Previously the company only owned the theatrical rights. The film, which is directed by Makoto Shinkai, will be released under the title The Place Promised in Our Early Days.
At the TOKYOPOP panel, it was revealed announced that the company has obtained the rights to Trash. Trash is created by the author of Gravitation.
