[NieA_7]
The latest series by the creators of Lain, namely NieA_7 (pronounced "Nia under 7"), is now broadcast online from the official site! Internet users can watch episodes 7 and 8 with Real Player. The episodes are split into four files to make streaming easier. It's not known yet whether the official site will carry more episodes in the future... Anyway, you can watch episodes 7 and 8 from this page: http://www.nieaunder7.net/experiments/
(Ed Note: Actually, you can't, because the site no longer exists. d0h!)

After being made into an anime clip, X², and a movie directed by Rintarou, X will be animated once again. The X TV series, announced a while ago, has recently been confirmed. We're not certain about the staff of the TV series yet, but there's a great chance that Madhouse is doing it.

[Card Captor Sakura]
Not so good news for CLAMP fans: the manga of Card-Captor Sakura will be coming to an end soon, despite the high success of the anime and the manga. The last volume will be #12, scheduled for early August. CLAMP's newest manga, Suki Dakara Suki and Angelic Layer, are still going strong, in the meantime.

Speaking of Card-Captor Sakura, after it recently made its way on US broadcast, the anime will invade more of North America, since the French version is coming on Teletoon in Québec. Sakura, Chasseuse de Cartes is the title of this dub which started airing on the French satellite channel Fox Kids about two years ago. Québec Sakura fans will be pleased to learn that this version, although it did suffer from a few name "localizations", did not have the cuts plaguing the US version and did not skip episodes at random.

[Rurouni Kenshin]
French Channel Canal+ has bought the rights to some more anime series! After Evangelion and Escaflowne, this semi-private channel will soon be broadcasting the OAVs of Rurouni Kenshin and Blue Submarine No. 6 (partly aired on Canal+ months ago). The four OAVs of Blue Submarine No. 6 will supposedly be aired sometime around early September, and the four OAVs of Kenshin, in late July/early August. Canal+ will most likely have both titles dubbed for broadcast (Blue 6 being already dubbed). It's unknown yet whether Canal+ will air the series in clear form (available for everyone to view) or encrypted form (available for only subscribers to view).

[Ulysses 31]
Still for people having access to French channels, public channel France 2 will be re-airing shortly the Mysterious Cities of Gold, Ulysses 31 and Cat's Eye early on Saturday morning. These 3 series have been broadcast a number of times before, but they're worth watching again even you've seen them already. As for You're Under Arrest (known as Equipières de Choc in French), which was aired for the first time a few months ago on France 2 then cancelled due to the hard competition from TF1's Pokémon, airing at the same time, it should be back on Saturday mornings at 7:20 AM, from August 13th.

French/Monaco channel TMC decided to air in its anime/cartoon program Récré Kids some movies of Dragon Ball Z. On Sunday 18th, two movies were inserted in the program in place of the usual series, these movies being movie #4, Super Saiya-jin da Son Gokuu, and #12, Fukkastu no Fusion Gokuu to Vegeta, released respectively in 1991 and 1995. Movie #12 had been released along with movie #13 on French theaters in 1996, while movie #4 was previously only available on video. For those who missed those movies, they will most likely be broadcast again during TMC's summer reruns, around the end of August.

[Gunbuster]
More French cable broadcasts: Teletoon (which has nothing to do with the eponymous North American channel) will be airing the classics Capitaine Flam (Captain Future) and Albator (Space Pirate Captain Harlock) this summer on Tuesdays, respectively at 8:40 PM and 9:40 PM. On the satellite, Top o nerae! Gunbuster is still on its way on Game One. Episode 5 and 6 will be aired all together next Wednesday at 7:05 PM.
