Submission Info and Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in contributing to Anime Dream! It seems as though we are always in need of help around here, so contributions from readers are very much appreciated. We can do better than simple appreciation, though, and we do:
- If we accept your submission, we will open a user account for you to access our content-management software, and you will have a "Contributor" status. As a contributor, you can manage your own author-bio page, and you will have the option to help us in additional ways, such as creating informational pages (e.g. anime-title info). Also, you would be in the running for press access to conventions. The passes to major conventions tend to be limited, but there are many conventions that we don't currently attend, and we'd love to have coverage of them.
- If we publish five of your articles, we will give you the option of becoming an Anime Dream staff member, which has additional perks, such as having first dibs (only behind the senior staff) for press access to conventions, and the occasional free media for review. Staff membership carries some responsibility, but nothing too heavy.
Guidelines for Submissions:
If the following are taken care of in your submission, we will be able to evaluate it more quickly.
- Currently, we accept news articles and reviews (both for anime titles and soundtracks) as new submissions. If you're submitting a news article, you must provide a source, and enough relevant information for us to verify it. If providing a review, please state clearly what it's for — e.g. "Gundam SEED TV, Volume 3" or "Cowboy Bebop: Original Soundtrack 1 (catalog #: VICL-60201)." Unless otherwise specified, we will assume that you are reviewing a US-domestic release.
- Keep it clean: free from spelling and basic grammatical errors. We won't reject any submission merely for having a few errors, but articles with fewer technical mistakes are bound to get published faster.
- Trim the fat: a submission that is free from extraneous information is more likely to be accepted.
- Points are given for articles that have smooth transitions, and a logical flow of ideas. Some of the issues with such can be corrected at the editing stage, but some cannot.
You can submit your article at this location!
