It's time for another editor review update, and like the last few, it features ElfShadow alone in the spotlight giving his opinion on a triplet of anime series. Look for an update shortly with info on how you can break the streak of ElfShadow editor reviews though.. **pst** ..take a look at the AD Application to get a sneak peek of what that update will be all about.

First off we have a review of Blue Seed, a series previously released by ADV on VHS and whose DVD release has just gotten underway. The first volume, containing episodes 1 through 7, was recently released at a retail price of $29.98 - quite a nice value considering the episode count. Volume 2, containing episodes 8 through 14, is set to hit retail shelves March 27th. A series high on action and comedy, Blue Seed's social commentary may be lost on viewers unfamiliar with Japanese history. Is the show still worth picking up? Let ElfShadow answer that question by reading his review here.

Next up is a review of Key: The Metal Idol, which is now available in its entirety from Viz on both VHS and DVD, the DVD release spanning 3 volumes for the 15 episode series. A series featuring a tightly woven plot, unfolding at pace to bring a smile to the face of any filler hater, Key is bound to satisfy those looking for a dose of psychological intrigue, as well as entertain the casual viewer with its nice animation and terrific music. See how the series stacks up in ElfShadow's review here.

X/1999 is a CLAMP work borrowing heavily from a number of previous CLAMP series, owing its cast of character to these other series. One such series is Tokyo Babylon, which lent both Seishirou Sakurazuka and Subaru Sumeragi to the later series. This may offer fans of X/1999 a chance to see a couple of their favorite characters from a much different perspective, but is the series worth seeing in its own right? Read ElfShadow's Tokyo Babylon review here to find out.

That wraps up another review update, and as enjoyable as another run of ElfShadow reviews may be, why not send in some reader reviews, hmmm? ^_^ Send them to ElfShadow, and while you're at it, fill out an application if you think you have what it takes to become a staff reviewer!
