Reviews: Sci-Fi Grab Bag
Ready to take a risk and plunge your browser into the grab bag? Be warned, as in all grab bags, the contents don't necessarily end up being what you expect....
Dipping your hand in the bag, the first thing to surface is Ryu's review of the first DVD set of Robotech. Ryu has opted to slant his reviews of this series with an eye towards the historical impact of this series, rather than as a measure of how "effectively" Macek mutilated the original Macross. To examine this find more closely, click here.
Digging deeper in the bag, your hand closes around Ryu's review of the first volume of Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. To find out Ryu's views on this first entry into the Universal Century timeline for domestic anime, click here.
Still feeling adventuresome? After a bit more groping around in the lightless confines of the grab bag, you find yourself staring at a surprising sight - a review of a shoujo series, in a sci-fi grab bag! Well, it is a grab bag, as I said....but this find might be worth examining anyways. The series in question is Here Is Greenwood (Koko Ha Greenwood), and if you click here, you might find a pleasant surprise in Ryu's analysis of the series.
If you dare to delve deeper, you might find the next excavation a bit more in alignment with your expectations. The next candidate turns out to be Bahamut's review of the first Tenchi movie, Tenchi Muyo In Love. Tenchi would probably be better described as "science fantasy," perhaps, but if you're still interested in spite of this caveat, you can view Bahamut's opinion on the movie here.
So it's been two weeks instead of one-ish this time. Consider it training: it will probably be another two weeks before the next one, since ElfShadow is going on vacation for a bit ^_^;;; But, more time means more reviews, so hopefully I'll be greeting you next time with another sizable, if delayed, review finding. Keep your eyes peeled, and remember: with a grab bag, you often get what you paid for it...if that :P
