It's hard to believe, but this past week saw the release of 12 fansub volumes! The cream of the crop, in this humble editor's opinion, comes in the form of six new volumes from Odyssey Anime. I've really enjoyed a number of their past offerings, such as the Vampire Princess Miyu TV series, Legend of Basara, and Suddenly Princess, and I also like the color schemes they choose for the tapes and sleeves--for example, for Vampire Princess Miyu, the tapes were red, and the sleeves black. Anyhow, the first two of the six I have been anticipating for some time--Volumes 3 and 4 of Legend of Basara, which finish off this excellent series. They've also unveiled the first three volumes for a new series, The Glass Mask, also known as Glass no Kamen. And, to top that, they have released another movie in the popular and prolific Lupin III series, namely Lupin III: The Mighty Sword That Cuts Through Steel! I'd imagine they'll be receiving a flood of requests in the next few weeks ^_^

To add to the flood of fansubs, Ctenosaur Video, known for their many subtitled mecha shows, received a number of new tapes from their Japanese subtitler earlier this week. The following titles are listed in their new acquisitions section, but haven't quite made it to their more comprehensive request listing. First off are episodes 1-3 of the slightly ecchi Sunrise series, The Big O, which the distributor seemed quite taken with. Second comes "Volume 5" of Brave King GaoGaiGar, which contains both the final OVA of GGG and the thirteenth TV episode. Third comes a treat for Transformers fans, being Volume 4 of the Transformers: Beast Wars II series. Fourth comes Volume 4 of Devilman Lady, and last, but not least, Volume 2 of the Harlock Saga, which is paired with the second episode of the Captain Harlock TV series.

And the final tape for this week's fansub flood is Naresome Studio's Volume 2 of Eden's Bowy, allowing fans to pick and choose between their translation and the one released about a month ago by Sakura Anime. But that's not all--somehow ElfShadow's gaijin eyes managed to miss two tapes which should have appeared in last week's update ~_~ Moushiwake arimasen--mefears Sachi's Distribution got misfiled in my mad bookmarks files, and I didn't notice until today that they had released Volumes 7 and 8 of Tenshi ni Narumon back on July 14th.
